August 2000 - Designer Systems develops integrated GSM and Global Positioning System (GPS) unit.....
Building on it's past experience of interfacing the Nokia range of mobile telephones to embedded microcontroller engines, Designer Systems developed a battery operated GSM/GPS solution small enough to be carried on a belt. With a battery life of some 12 hours the unit provides RS232 interfaces to allow communication with external computer equipment.

June 2000 - Mastercare contracts manufacture of programming device.....
Mastercare (part of the Dixons Group of companies) approached Designer Systems to complete design and provide manufacture of a programming device for each of their customer service engineers. Supplying over 650 pieces the contract was undertaken by a number of local sub-contractors / outworkers and completed in-house.

February 2000 - DVD-SYN for Philips DVD-170 players now has more ports and new firmware upgrade.....
The Designer Systems DVD-SYN - 2 to 8 player synchronization unit - has been one of the best selling products in the DVD-170 RS232 control range.
It's success will now be further enhanced by the release of version 3.00 firmware, ensuring that the product can support simpler authoring of DVD media and better all round player control.
The range has also been extended with the addition of two new versions, a seven (7) port and an eight (8) port, allowing even more players to be controlled.
