II Marine Security System This project consisted of the development of seven (7) separate networked modules that provide monitoring and display of boat status. Based around a central processing unit that features GSM/GPS technology the system is capable of monitoring bilge water level, intruder detection, on-board battery state, combustible gas level etc. and report this status, or alarm condition, using SMS messaging to individual users. Coupled with GPS positioning, movement detection is also supported and reported via SMS. The system is also capable of monitoring NMEA0183 and Seatalk devices on the boat and logging this and other data ready for GPRS download to a central server. The Helm LCD and Anchorwatch LCD displays are shown installed on a Sunseeker 82. |
