Description
The Designer
Systems cost effective DS-LCDD4 module provides a simple means of
connecting any device capable of standard RS232 serial or I2C communication to a
standard alphanumeric Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) module of 16 x 2, 20 x
2, 40 x 2 or 20 x 4 character/lines. The DS-LCDD4 provides complete
control of character placement, customisation and cursor movement to
ensure that your application is up-and-running in a fraction of the time
necessary to implement the standard LCD control protocol. The DS-LCDD4
also features a 4x4 keypad matrix input, on-board supply regulation for both LCD supply and
backlight, and also includes fully 'jumperless' setup of internal features
over the serial / I2C link. These include 15 levels of backlight brightness,
serial baud rate (9600 baud default), I2C address and number of display lines. The
module simple piggy-backs on the LCD module to form a compact solution. A
demonstration kit is available which can be used to create a revolving
