telephone This project was to develop a weatherproof handfree/handset telephone that included a number of application specific features. The telephone PCB was designed to be multi-product compatible allowing use within the clients existing handset and handsfree enclosures. Additional application specific functions are handled by an onboard 18F4321 microcontroller and include disconnection tone detection, timing and microphone monitoring for automatic on-hook, auto muting on off-hook to prevent DTMF microphone dial (unless an incoming call is being answered) and full keypad translation to allow software specific key allocations. The telephone was designed to encompass all standard telecom directives (EN301437, ETSI ES 203 021-2, TBR 021, EN 301 437, TBR 015, TBR 017,TBR 038, ITU-T K21/K44) and Network Rail standard NT/SP/TEL/30003 (formally RT/E/S/30003).
